CoaXPress (CXP) is an asymmetric high speed serial communication standard over coaxial cable.
The most common application is to interface cameras to computers (via frame grabbers) on applications (such as machine vision) which involve automated acquisition and analysis of images.
A CoaXPress camera can be interfaced to a CoaXPress frame grabber by a single coaxial cable without an external power supply or extra cables for uplink communication to the camera.
The version CXP-6 supports up to 6.25 Gbps on cables of up to 68 m.
A low speed uplink channel, operating at 20.833 Mbit/s can be used for camera control or triggering.
Features:
Down stream speed up to 6.25 Gbps per lane
All the key functions integrated in a SOC based on Xilinx Kintex160 FPGA device
1GbE (IEEE 802.3) channel
1GB DDR3 memory
Supports both CIS and CCD sensors
mBlaze service processor
Real time Image correction
Integrated System Monitor and Debug
